Notes:
Tree like "herb" 7-8 m high. Sap bright purple. "Trunk" c. 20-30 cm thick in lower part. Leaves not collected, shining above. Female flowers with bracts 14-15 x c. 4 cm, oblong-acuminate green outside, whitish inside with pale brown veins. Style c. 5 cm long, thick and whitish. Female flowers with perianth white with purple veins, c. 5 cm long, narrowly-triangular. Mature fruits in erect bunches, 13-15 cm x 4-4.5 cm, 3-angled, orange; flesh bright yellow. Seeds absent. Locally common and representing an ancient planting site. Little vegetative spread, ± adventive.
