Notes:
Large tree c. 20 m high, rather dense and spreading canopy. Trunk with very pale bark (not collected). Leaflets somewhat shining above with veins indented (i.e. main ones). Young shoots and petioles rusty brown. Lower leaf surface glaucescent with raised pink veins. Common but scattered. Flowers in dense terminal clusters. Calyx pale yellowish-brown, spathaceous, 6-7 cm long, curved inwards. Filaments ± orange streaked. Style pale orange. Corolla bright orange-red, rather crumpled, fugaceous, basal "stem" c. 1 cm long; expanded tube part curved and ventrocose, between c. 7 & 10 cm long according to whether back or front of corolla; veins darker inside, lobes 2.5-3 cm, very broad.
