Notes:
Succulent subshrub or small shrub; stems to c. 70-80 cm high. Leaves fairly thick, green, often flushed red above, with dark brown blotches at base of marginal leaf sinuses. No adventitious leaf buds seen. One or two plants. Upper part of stems, especially in inflorescence, purple, strongly flecked pale green. Petioles similar colour on exposed side. Flowers pendent. Calyx very variable in length, 2-3.5 cm, broadly cylindric and inflated, pale green with strong purple flush at base. Corollas all immature when specimen collected.
