Notes:
Tufted herb, the dark red stems soon becoming erect. Leaves shining; margins red and upper surface sometimes flushed red. Hypanthium and fruit dark shining red. Petals pale or very pale pink, c.8mm long, obovate or oblanceolate. Calyx ± red. Common.
