Habitat:
Margin of indigenous forest stand, peaty soil.
Notes:
Hollow-stemmed herb with milky latex. Leaves crinkled and shining above with spiny margins. Florets pale yellow. Inflorescence up to c.60cm high. Scattered but fairly common. Usually grows in much less disturbed and modified habitats than Sonchus ole.
