a very small form from dry limestone; this material exemplifies the blurred boundary between Cratoneuropsis and Amblystegium (esply A. varium). Why is this material not Amblystegium varium? or, perhaps more to the point, why are the few NZ specimens of A. varium not referrable to Cratoneuropsis???
