Notes:
Rhizomatous, patch-forming herb. Leaves green-brown. Fruit orange speckled with red. Seed closely invested by fleshy part of fruit but can be separated cleanly. Gunnera monoica is common on Banks Peninsula but G. prorepens is not known.
