Herb. K.W. Allison no. 2862A duplicate of this collection was annotated by HC Greven as Grimmia grisea. Cf. CHR 486081.I don't believe that this is the same species represented in L.B.M.303 in herb Sainsbury. Leaves ovate-lanceolate, margins bistratose, marginal basal cells lacking thickened transverse walls. AJ Fife, Aug 1988.This specimen does not agree with an Australian specimen of G. obtusata in herb. Beckett. The basal leaf cells here are non-sinuouse, oblong, thin-walled, 4-5 :1 (but longer adjacent to costa); marginal rows are not differentiated. Leaves ovate,, with upper lamina unistratose, except bistratose at extreme margins. Autoicous. AJ Fife, undated.A duplicate of this collection was annotated as G. grisea by HC Greven, July 1996. Cf.
