Supplementary remarks:
Perianth deep mauve-blue or violet-blue; segments c. 20 × 6 mm, ± elliptic; tube very short. Anthers twisted. Style branches mauve, thickened at apex.
Bracts partly herbaceous (lower part) and partly scarious (upper part), this being pinkish brown with darker veins.
