Habitat:
Garden, amongst shrubs, in shade.
Notes:
Herb, distinctively aromatic ("herb Robert scent") with lax spreading stems, reddish on upper side. Old leaves becoming red. Inflorescence reddish, including calyx. Petals deep pink. oblanceolate, c. 1.7 X 0.6 cm ; apex ± truncate to slightly retuse. Anthers orange-yellow. Uppermost part of style and the stigmas rosy-crimson. Spontaneous and common through many shady parts of the garden although only introduced about three years ago.
