Notes:
Aromatic herbs with long weak trailing or scrambling stems. Leaves with long twisting petioles; lamina pale beneath. Flowers held +/- horizontally. Sepals light yellow; spurc.3cm long, tapering. A very common adventive and almost a nuisance. Has not been planted for some years.

Supplementary remarks:
Corolla somewhat irregular, from the front 4.5-6cm deep (top to bottom) x 4.5 - 6cm, petals usually strongly intricate but sometimes much less so,: claw of lower tree petals slender, 1.3-1.5cm. Petals usually orange, sometimes yellow with orange centre, dark crimson venation on upper two petals which is carried down onto inside of sepals, the flower forming a cup-shaped corolla in lower part.
