Habitat:
Back of beach, base of tufaceous cliff.
Notes:
Tree 8-10m high with many aerial roots. Trunk very stout; bark rough. Leaves grey beneath. Hypanthium and calyx white-downy. Stamens deep crimson, 2.3-2.8cm long. Style deep crimson, c.3cm long. Very common along this coast.
