Notes:
Young tree 6-7m high with slender, simple horizontally-ribbed trunk. Leaflets greyish-white beneath, dark shining green above; petiole swollen at base, c.50cm long. See Supplementary Label.

Supplementary remarks:
Male spikes in clusters, initally enveloped in a pale green sheath; spikes mostly 9-12 cm long, cylindric. Common in stands of forest along old plantation boundaries, streamside and any groves of tall woody vegetation.
