Notes:
Shrubs 2-2.5m high. Leaves variegated in different ways: a) red below, midrib red on both sides; lateral veins yellow above sometimes. b) leaf mostly yellow or pink flushed and echlorophyllous, dark green parallel interveinal bands above, visible from beneath. c) lamina of leaf dark green, speckled with yellow above, this colour showing beneath also. This third form is very common and is the one most likely to be found as a cultivation relic in remote interior parts of Rarotonga showing that it has been grown there for a long time.
