Gently sloping roadside bank, open site.
Notes:
Young tree c.1m high. Shoots brownish-green. Buds scarcely resinous with free and spreading scale apices. Leaves twisted and erect. Conelets dark purple. Cones somewhat downwards curving, opening but persistent on tree for some time (in collection). Many small trees, probably spontaneous. [See Collection (Cone)]
