Habitat:
Flat, pohutukawa forest, near beach where fairly open.
Notes:
Rhizomes thick. Stems erect to c. 2m and plant forming a clump. Flowers erect; staminodes scarlet, c. 4.5 - 5.5 cm long, c. 1 - 1.2cm wide. Perianth green, often reddish at base. A few clumps. Presumably adventive.
