Open indigenous scrub forest. Adventive.
Notes:
Small tree c.3m high with brown trunk and bark becoming rough. Leaves shining above, subcoriaceous. Flowers pendent. Corolla translucent white; tube 7 -8mm long, broadly ovoid; lobes very shallow and recurved. Fruit pendant, c.1.7-2 x 2-2.5cm, rounded and somewhat flattened, i.e. subglobose, becoming orange and finally crimson-scarlett on the "granular" exterior; flesh yellow, somewhat sweet, An isolated plant.
