Amongst collapsed puriri (Vitex lucens) branches and stumps in shaded and moist places in kahikatea/matai forest.

Notes:
Four patches found (largest 6 metres square but patchy - plants not occupying entire area) in badly browsed forest remnant. Fern not browsed and quite healthy (although wind battered). Creeping race Associated species - Rumex crispus, Juncus pauciflorus.
