Scrub covered coastal slope.
Notes:
Shrub. Leaves +/- shining, deep green above, pale green below; veins elevated below but main veins also raised above. Young inflorescence on male and female plants. Peduncle glabrous, lacking an internode and node as in Macropiper excelsum; basal "bract" 6-7 x c.3mm, oblong with rounded top. Inflorescence usually of 1 spike.
