Habitat:
Rounded ridge top. Open with scattered small trees and low shrubs and herbs.
Notes:
Small tree with stout prickly stem c. 2m high. Leaves forming a great terminal head,1-1.5m long, subcoriacous. Fruits in a large pendant subglobose head [photo], Phalanges 5.5-6cm long, segments irregular at tops. Very common and often the only tree present.
