Habitat:
On bank in small valley, amongst other conifers.
Notes:
Medium-sized tree 13-15m. Bark rough and grey flaky. Branchlets and smaller branches twisted. Young shoots with some glaucous bloom. Leaves dark green and twisted. Winterbuds resinous. Cones in collection, 5.5-6cm long, open on tree, slightly asymmetric; umbo prickly.
