Notes:
Large spreading tree c. 20m high, with pendulous branchlets. Bark rough & fissured, pink beneath (coll.). Shoots brownish-yellow. Catkins bisexual, often curving upwards. Some catkins all male, others all female, some male on 1 side & female on the other, otherwise ♂ & ♀ mixed. Bracts 1.7-2.3 mm long, strongly concave, pale green or often reddish tinged. Glands oblong, ± cylindrical, ovate or broad ovate, rectangular, 1 (anterior) in ♀ fls, 2 (anterior largest) in ♀ flowers.
