Notes:
Dense sprawling shrub forming an extensive and continuous thicket covering many metres in area and from c.1.5 to over 2.5m high. Petioles and young shoots red hairy.Leafmargins red. Bracts and calyx red. Corolla purple, c.7mm across. Petals +/- patent, c.3cm long, broad obovate, rich purple. Stamens purple.
