Small tree 4-5m high. Bark grey and longitudinally fissured. Flaking. Shoots brown.Buds non-resinous; scales brown with whitish margins. Cones pale when first open,symmetrical; umbos +/- pointing to base. Abundant and the dominant tree on the hills around here.
