Habitat:
Recently disturbed area with little grassland in otherwise dense mossy forest on sandy limestone and peat.
Notes:
Sec veg, usu. on hummocks, bases deeply buried in these. Tufted, branching extra-vaginally at base. Culm geniculately erect. Sheaths dark purple, lvs green, often mottled with purple, soon straw, fragrant. Infl. secund, drooping, whitish green, soon straw. AA, SS white. Farily common.
