Note:
I am not sure (deciding between M. helmsii and the variable M. gracile) and I am very bothered that this specimen is the only record of M. helmsii for Canterbury. This is a very aberrant locality for M. helmsii and the boundary between that species and M. gracile are not always as clear-cut as one would wish! The only other Canterbury specimen (CHR 585921) so-named I have referred to M. gracile.
