Notes:
Abundant on margin of lake in damp ground flooded over during high water levels. 1000 or more plants, growing on fine muddy silt and pumice. Most common on recently exposed lake bed but also found amongst Carex cirrhosa, Centipeda cunninghamii, Lachnagrostis filiformis, and under a sparse Salix cinerea cover. Partially submerged plants also noted growing amongst Eleocharis sphacelata.Amphibromus plants large, forming semi-circular sprawling patches of grey-green leaves, fruiting culms often rooting at nodes, these also very erect, mature inflorescences typically extended well beyond upper most leaves, with basal pair of spikelets deflexed. Flowering inflorescences appear to reside entirely within the leaf sheath.DUPLICATES SENT TO: CHR. HO
