East-facing slope, near F.R.I. Trial. In scrub several hundred metres downwind of plantation of this subspecies.
Notes:
Rather young tree, with shining brown shoots. Conelets green. Mature cones nearly symmetrical. (coll.). A typical example of Kaingaroa Forest type of P. contorta.
