On side of small rocky knoll at back of beach.
Notes:
Stems short and thick. Leaves to c.5.5x4.3cm, 6-11mm thick, obovoid, white bloomy(green below), flat above, convex below, purple-margined towards apiculate apex. Scape & infl. branches white-bloomy. Flowers pendent at anthers. Sepals 3-5mm long, broadly or very broadly triangular, reddish below the white bloom. Corolla 3.3-3.5cm long, orange-red outside, orange inside; petals cohering for c. ⅔ to form a broadly cylindric ribbed tube, distl 1.3cm separate and reflexed, 5-6mm wide. Stamens (filaments) c.2cm long, yellow. Stylesc.2cm long, green. Glands 2-2.5mm long, oblong to almost ovate. A common species but specimen represents a very thick-leaved form.
