Habitat:
On steep slope few m above sea level. Adventive.
Notes:
Young tree. Shoots very pale yellowish-brown. Winter buds with free dark brown scales, scarcely reflexed or spreading. Cone reddish-brown, 9cm x 4cm, narrow ovoid, backward pointing on stout recurved stalk (in coll.) young conelets crimson; not on specimen but on adjacent tree. A few spontaneous trees. Parents also around and may be wild also.
