Specimen notes
Supplementary remarks:
Torilis anthirscus (L.) C.C.Gmel. I have place [CHR] 425, 48307, 48308 under this species tentatively due to a presence of a general incolucre cf. T. arvensis (Huds.) Link. in which a general incolucre is absent or represented by 1 or 2 minute bracts. The fruit spines are hooked in these specimens, but in [CHR] 70,269, they are subulate only as is more characteristic: several overseas authorities however state that the presence or absence of the general involucre is a much better diagnostic character than presence or absence of apical hooks on the fruit spines, the latter being a variable character .
