Notes:
Herb with thick, more or less ginger scented rhizomes. Stem about 1m; leaves dist- ichous. Flowers very fragrent; Perianth tube 7-9cm long, curving downwards after antheseis. Original.

Supplementary remarks:
Staminodes white with pale yellow central patch on labellum; laterals 4-4.5 x c. 1.5 cm, ± spathulate; labellum c 4.5 x 3.5 cm, broadly obovate, emarginate. Stamen-style column c 3.5. cm.
Plant collected in Rarotonga in Aug 1982, probably in the Avana Valley.
