Crevice between two boulders in stone pavement - glacial cliff.
Notes:
Bryum, probably argenteum, common in area. (This material does not compare well to any of the Antarctican species of Tortula present in CHR (T. conferta, T. excelsa, T. fuscoviridis, T. grossiretis). I am not able to name it. Of the above species it shows the greatest similarity to material of T. grossiretis (e.g. Ochyra 1480/80 from the South Shetlands) but compared to that material Given 13750 is greener, much less robust, and has much less strongly recurved leaf margins. I could not ascribe it to this species based on material available to me. Allan Fife, May 1986).
