On Pittosporum colensoi in shrubland on edge of podocarp forest.
Notes:
The ground under this small tree was solid with this root parasite. Old flower heads were scattered on the ground. Sign of some Dactylanthus having been rooted up by pigs. Previously collected in the same area in 1977 (NZFRI 9970). Forest Research Institute, Rotorua, New Zealand.
