Habitat:
Trunk of Myrsine divaricata (6 cm DBH) in N. solandri copse. Subalpine heath with Chionochloa rubra, Leptospermum scoparium, Empodisma minus, Cyathodes sp., Epacris alpina, Cladia retipora and Cladina alpestre; also adjacent pockets of Nothofagus solandri-Libocedrus bidwillii-Phyllocladus alpinus forest; granite bedrock.
Notes:
C.fr. (This specimen has been compared to (Holo) type material of Trichostomum perichaetiale Hook. located in The Natural History Museum, London (BM). I consider it to be taxonomically indistinguishable from the type specimen. I have recorded details concerning the type specimen in a database, q.v. Allan Fife, July 1992.) This specimen used for illustration for Moss Flora of New Zealand.
