Habitat:
North facing subalpine slope with small cascading streams, greywacke bedrock, and exposed talus slopes. Vegetation dominated by Dracophyllum longifolium, Dracophyllum uniflorum, Chionochloa spp., Cassinia vauvilliersii, Hebe subalpina, Gaultheria crassa, Senecio bennettii, Olearia spp. Elevation 1036m - 1158m. Moist thin soil over greywacke, deep shade, subject to flood at margin of cascade in Achrophyllum.
