Shrub 0.75 - 1.5m; multi-stemmed. Scales dark brown. Catkins ♂ pendulous. Bracts reddish to purplish, stigmas crimson. Anthers often reddish towards apex on exposed side. A suite of specimens from different plants to show variation in leaf flushing, catkins anthers and amount of colour difference in shoots and leaves.
