Small tree c. 8m. Bark slightly fissured. Shoots yellowish-brown. Scales yellowish brown. Leaves silky below when young. Catkins suberect. Bracts c.2.5mm, oblong-obovate, black in upper half. Gland (1), 0.6-0.7mm, oblong, yellow. Stigmas green.
