Note:
The hair on the leaves (at least beneath) are quite wrong for S. caprea, when seen on the mature leaves. Here they are more or less appressed and amber-coloured, and directed towards tip. I don't know this species!.

? Male. Small tree c. 4m. Shoots dark green, not striated. Leaves glaucous below. Catkins 3.5-4 cm. Bracts 2-2.5mm, elliptic-obovate, black in upper 3/4. Gland (1), c. 0.8mm, oblong, yellow.
