Habitat:
Along roadsides and in rough pastures
Notes:
"lalang" Locally plentifulLalang is established along Edmonds Rd and for about 2 kilometres along Kerikeri Basin Rd where Edmonds Rd joins it. It grows along roadsides and adjoining paddocks and is prominent where stock cannot graze closely around the basalt rocks. On roadsides it forms some large pure colonies. It grows through bracken more than a metre high but does not compete successfully with ungrazed kikuyu grass. I got the impression that on good pasture land it would not present much threat.
