Habitat:
On rocks in kanuka-Hebe "arborea" scrub.
Notes:
(Unnamed, according to A.P. Druce, "sp.(m)" in his unpublished checklist of N.Z. trees & shrubs). Shrub 0.6m tall. Stems (esp. young ones) red. Leaves dark green above, barely glossy, glabrous except very young ones with faintly pubescent tips. Corolla pale mauve, fading to white. Sepals > tube length.
