Supplementary remarks:
[Note on CHR 335658:]
Campylopus appressifolius is actually the same thing as the original type concept of Campylopus clavatus (Schwaegr.) Wilson, but is different from what has been recognised as D. clavatus since Dixon's treamtent in 1913. The capsules in this collection have peristomes of the Campylopus type, while Campylopus clavatus sensu Dixon and after belongs to subg. Thysanomitrion and therefore should have a Thysanomitrion type peristome, i.e. with many white filaments rather than 16 red teeth. Campylopus appressifolius (orCampylopus clavatus) is also the older name for what has in Australia gone under Campylopus australis Catches. & J.-P.Frahm.
N. Klazenga (MEL), 28.06.2013
