Growing in Leptospermum scrub.
Notes:
Plants have been obtained from the Maromaku area by R.O. Green but this population has since disappeared. Plants very near the above area are morphologically similiar but are just a fern of Doodia media var. australis which the bases of each pinna being confluent with the next. Specimens of this kind have been collected near Auckland by R. Chinnock and erroneously called Doodia aspera. Grid reference is NZMS 1: N15 600 350 - 607 360. Sheets A, B, C and D.
