Its characteraties are the long and slender spikes+ utricles overtopping the plumes. The nut is noticeable for a ring."nut annulo corronata." G. Kükenthal in letter of 19th Oct.1911 '

Herb H. Carse, Kaiaka Auckland NZ I am reducing Küks Uncinia pedicellata to a var. of U.australis. The absence of annulation at the top of the nut is bosh" D.Petrie in letter 21 July 1914
