Notes:
(339/4) Scirpus339a/1 The much branched habit suggests S. lenticularis or fluitans, both of which grow in the neighbourhood. The leaves are rather too slender and the spikelets too small for lenticularis though the glumes seem nearer to those of that species. The obtusely tipped leaves and glumaceous bracts appear to connect it with S. aucklandicus, which is plentiful in the vicinity. H. Carse.
Specimen notes
Herbarium history:
The Carse Herbarium No.339a/1
Herbarium history:
Transferred from Canterbury Museum, Christchurch (CANTY) May 1975 [Canterbury Museum No.] 2703
Supplementary remarks:
"......doubtful. In some respects it comes nearest to S. lenticularis"
R.H. Anderson, National Herbarium Sydney
Supplementary remarks:
349a/1 Scirpus lenticularis. Waimarino Plains. Petrie has this under this species. I have no remarks to make as I do not know what the true lenticularis is really like.
