Fruiting twigs were taken in late summer 1963 from a plant collected on the Slate Range in December 1962 and grown on in the garden of R.H.Simpson at Richmond.

Grows amongst moss cushions on lichen usually on a peaty substratum. The fruit was white, globose, with scurfy skin. Pyrenes 3.
