Notes:
Large rhizomatous herb. Rhizomes thicker than those of CHR 189803. Leaves to c. 3 metres high. Petiole spines tending reddish. Main leaf veins green. Old ♀ fls. green. Whole inflorescence over 1 metre tall (110 cm). See Journ. R.N.Z. Inst. Hort. N.S. Vol. 1 (2) pp.56-59 March 1969. These specimens are from the clump that was reported upon & measured & photographed for that article.
