Notes:
Young tree. Shoots brownish-green, puberulent when young; Winter buds shining brownish resinous. Leaves glaucous banded. Cones extreme.y resinous, curved, basal scales recurved. Very clost to P. strobus L. Identified as Pinus monticola & not P. strobus because of the glandular puberulence on the young shoots which is furthermore generally distributed & not aggregated near the needle bases.Cone in collection
