Maungatapere seems an unlikely locality for a coastal sedge such as Carex litorosa. It would also make it the northern-most locality for this species.

The specimen CHR 146041 Carex litorosa may have been mounted by mistake with CHR 109709 Carex lucida, now Carex flagellifera. The collection details may only apply to CHR 109709 Carex flagellifera.
