Habitat:
In the gully at 1600ft altitude. In open scrub with Coprosmas spp. and Aristotelia fruticosa.
Notes:
Female inflorescence 74 ins. [inches] high, stem fistular but stuffed, stringy at base giving copious production of gum cutting, stem 1.¼ ins. diameter clear to the first bract, at 17 ins. high, then ca. 33 sterile bracts ± green, flowering bracts yellow. Leaves ± flexible, the outer 3ft. long, with stipules broad, thin, channelled, 3½-5¼ ins. long, with the base 7-10ins. long, 3¼-4¼ ins. wide.
